October 10, 2024Celebrate the holiday season by transforming your doorstep and home exterior into a festive display! Join your neighbors in spreading holiday cheer by participating in the Brighten the Block: Festive Doorsteps of Eagle Trace Village decorating competition.
Entry Process:
- Eligibility: All Eagle Trace Village residents are eligible to participate.
- Registration:
- To enter the contest, register your home by submitting the entry form (available online at eagletracevillage.com or by emailing boardofdirectors@eagletracevillage.com) by 12-16-2024.
- Ensure that your home address and contact details are included in the registration form.
- There is no entry fee for this competition.
Judging Criteria:
Homes will be judged based on the following key categories:
- Creativity and Originality (30 points)
– Unique and innovative use of decorations, themes, and designs. - Festive Spirit (30 points)
– Overall holiday cheer and how well the display embodies the holiday season. - Aesthetic Appeal (20 points)
– Visual appeal, coordination of colors, and overall impact. - Neighborhood Impact (20 points)
– How well the decorations enhance the festive spirit of the neighborhood.
- Creativity and Originality (30 points)
Judges will score based on a 100-point system, and the homes with the highest scores will win

- Registration Opens 11-28-24
- Entry Deadline: 12-16-2024
- Judging Period: 12-17-24 – 12-19-24
- Winners Announced: 12-20-24 Winners will be announced via the Eagle Trace Village website and community newsletter.

All winners will also receive special recognition in the Eagle Trace Village community newsletter and social media shoutouts
Rules for Decorating:
- Display Deadline: All decorations must be in place and fully operational by 12-16-24.
- Safety: Decorations must be safely installed, with no dangerous or hazardous setups.
- Theme: All decorations must reflect the winter holiday season.
- Size Restrictions: Decorations must remain on your property and should not obstruct sidewalks or neighboring homes.
- No Offensive Displays: Decorations that include offensive or inappropriate content will be disqualified.
How Judging Works:
- A panel of judges from the Eagle Trace Village community board and local businesses will visit each participating home during the judging period.
- Residents are encouraged to turn on their decorations in the evening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm to ensure visibility for judging.
- Judges will evaluate each home based on the listed criteria and select the top three winners.
